Overview
England 1558-1603. The filthy genes of the Blackadder dynasty bubble back to the surface of the melting pot of history as Lord Edmund, arrogant peer-about-town, swaggers back with a big head and small beard in search of grace and favour from stark raving mad Queen Bess. Accompanied by a small rabble of be-ruffed riff-raff – bottom-breath Baldrick and pea-brained Percy – the serpentine Lord Blackadder lowers the whole tone of England's Golden Age.

Episodes:

1. Bells
Lord Blackadder is deeply disturbed when he finds himself falling in love with his new manservant, Bob. A surprise relaxes his fears and they agree to marry, but could a visiting guest come between the happy couple?

2. Head
Blackadder is 'promoted' to the role of Lord High Executioner. Not best pleased with his new appointment, Edmund sets about bringing some executions forward in order to maximise his leisure time...

3. Potato
When Sir Walter Raleigh returns to England's fair shore bringing luxuries such as the potato, the Queen falls in love with the explorers' dream. Edmund merely falls in love with the idea of fame, and of getting one over on the smug git, and so charters his own ship...

4. Money
Blackadder is facing money troubles - or, as he puts it, 'cashflow problems' - that are far from helped when the notorious baby-eating Bishop of Bath and Wells arrives to call in a thousand-pound debt.

5. Beer
Blackadder challenges Melchett to a drinking contest - on the same night he is due to play host to his puritanical relatives, Lord and Lady Whiteadder, in order to discuss his inheritance!

6. Chains
Melchett and Blackadder are taken hostage by the dastardly German master of disguise Prince Ludwig, just hours after the Queen swore to only pay one more ransom ever. When she struggles to choose between the two, their captor decides to overthrow her and make himself King.
