Overview
Der ebenso gut aussehende wie unerfahrene Dorian Gray (Ben Barnes) kommt gegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts in London an. Dort steht er dem Maler Basil Hallward (Ben Chaplin) Modell, der Dorians beeindruckende Schönheit und Jugendlichkeit in einem Portrait dauerhaft festhalten will. Unter den Fittichen des charismatischen Lord Henry Wotton (Colin Firth) findet Dorian schnell Gefallen an den hedonistischen Freuden der gehobenen Großstadt-Gesellschaft und lernt, dass sein Aussehen ihm alle Türen öffnet. So wundert es nicht, dass, kaum ist das Bild enthüllt, Dorian ein gedankenloses Versprechen äußert: Seine Seele würde er dafür geben, dass nicht er, sondern das Gemälde altert!
